Kauai ::

This little Hawaiian island is one of the most magical places I’ve been and coming from New Zealand, that says a lot.

It actually reminded me a lot of the south island of NZ in the way the landscape wrapped around the corers of the ocean. Cascading waterfalls, lush bush, rainy misty mornings and perfect air. From the minute you land and walk through the open air airport, you instantly feel the dewy warm breeze soaking into your thirsty skin.

The sound of ukulele is familiar and the crashing waves becomes comfort. It is unassuming, low key and all natural. It’s a tiny island with pockets of goodies embedded throughout. You can hike up the backside of any hill for amazing views, drive the island in a couple of hours, hike/fly/or boat the Napali coast and doing yoga/shopping/surfing in Hanalei bay.

These were my top fav to do’s >>

Cute little town > walk around !

Mermaids cafe is super sweet little spot with great food and Hawaiian vibes.

Hanalei bay::

The best !

Yummy sushi+ cocktails and lovely staff at the Dolphin

Kalalea Juice Hale > Açai Bowls

Harvest market > health food > best smoothies, salads and all the things!

Sushi Girl Kauai > cutest little Poke spot ! Get it on the drive out to Napali coast.

Hike to the waterfall at the Napali Coast - it’s a day hike - Take food. Stop along the way.

Go check out the south part of the island - could even have a beach day at Poipu. You can drive the whole island and just do a waterfall tour !

Queens baths > This place is so special! Tucked into the ocean rocks, this place has multiple natural baths that wrap around the hillside. You can jump into the pools at low tide, watch turtles play and soak in your own volcanic bath. I went solo and stayed for hours! Try to go on a weekday.

Do yoga at Yoga Hanalei. There are also a couple cute studios in kappa and around the area.
